Ray Howard-Jones: My Hand is the Voice of the Sea by David Moore

Graffeg, £35.00

The concept of ‘art for art’s sake’ seems to contradict the nature of contemporary culture and the speed at which our world travels, particularly as we indulge the fast-moving human mimic, AI. Against this backdrop, My Hand is the Voice of the Sea highlights the relevance of painting, drawing, and playing with material. For an artist, the very act of painting offers a space where both the humour and darkness of humanity can be made visible through each brush stroke. This book stopped me in my tracks, demanded time and reflection, made me pause in my frantic twenty-first century existence.
